Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of MASQO (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms. By accessing, downloading, installing, or using MASQO, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising device use and ensuring that minors do not access the App.
What MASQO does
MASQO is a local, pass-the-phone party game. Players receive roles, clues, and secret words on one shared device, discuss them in person, and try to identify the Imposter. Some decks contain mature themes intended for adults.
MASQO does not require an account. Player names, party state, and custom-deck content are stored locally on the device as described in our Privacy Policy.
License
The App is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use MASQO on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules and Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, interfere with, automate abusive access to, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
Player names and custom decks
You are responsible for player names, custom words, prompts, and other content you enter into the App (“User Content”). You retain any rights you have in User Content. MASQO processes it locally only as needed to provide the requested game functions, unless you voluntarily include it in a support message.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for User Content. Do not enter confidential information or content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, defamatory, exploitative, obscene, or that violates another person’s privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
Party play and responsible use
You are responsible for using the App safely and appropriately with your group. Do not use MASQO while driving or in any situation where handling or passing a device would be unsafe. Obtain permission before entering another person’s name, and respect anyone who does not wish to participate or view mature content.
Game outcomes, role assignments, clues, hints, and timers are provided for entertainment. They must not be used for gambling, wagering, professional advice, safety-critical decisions, harassment, or determining real-world facts about another person.
Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or harmful activity;
- use User Content to exploit, endanger, impersonate, or harass another person;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- circumvent subscriptions, usage controls, security protections, or technical limitations;
- introduce malware, overload the service, scrape content, or interfere with other users or providers; or
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its curated content without written permission.
Free access, Premium, and subscriptions
MASQO may provide a free deck and other free features. MASQO Premium unlocks additional deck collections and the ability to create a custom deck. Available plans, localized prices, billing periods, introductory offers, eligibility, and included features are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm a purchase.
MASQO currently offers weekly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions. An introductory trial or discount may be available only to eligible users and only when shown by Apple on the purchase screen. We do not guarantee that every user will receive an introductory offer.
Payment and automatic renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple Account through the App Store. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple Account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. Prices may vary by storefront and may change as permitted by Apple and applicable law.
Managing or canceling a subscription
You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation applies to future billing periods; you retain access through the end of the paid period unless Apple determines otherwise. Deleting MASQO or using Reset all data does not cancel a subscription.
Restore Purchases and offline verification
Use Restore Purchases in the App to ask Apple and RevenueCat to restore eligible access. An internet connection may be required to verify subscription status. When MASQO cannot contact the subscription service, it may provide up to 24 hours of temporary offline access based on the last verified status. This temporary access does not extend the subscription or guarantee access when status cannot be safely verified.
Refunds
Apple processes payments and controls refund decisions. Submit refund requests through Apple’s Report a Problem service or another Apple support channel. We cannot issue or override App Store refunds. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
Changes to features and content
We may update, add, remove, limit, suspend, or discontinue features, decks, words, hints, availability, or technical integrations to improve MASQO, address safety or legal requirements, manage capacity, or reflect provider changes. We do not guarantee that every feature or item of content will remain available indefinitely. Any changes remain subject to applicable consumer law and the subscription access described at purchase.
Third-party services
The App depends on third-party services for App Store distribution and payments, subscription management, permitted analytics, crash diagnostics, push notifications, and service hosting. Those services may be unavailable, change, or apply their own terms and policies. See our Privacy Policy for the current provider list.
MASQO content and intellectual property
The App, its software, design, text, graphics, branding, curated decks, words, hints, and other non-user content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited App license, no rights in this content are transferred to you.
Feedback
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MASQO is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that clues, hints, custom content, or game outcomes will be accurate, appropriate for every group, unique, or free of errors. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates, officers, employees, licensors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, use, or goodwill, arising from the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for MASQO during the 12 months before the claim or USD $50, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Apple terms
Apple is not responsible for MASQO or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a U.S. Government prohibited or restricted-party list.
Termination
Your license ends automatically if you materially violate these Terms. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, security, legal requirements, or a material violation. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. Deleting the App does not cancel an active subscription.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as MASQO, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
